What it is

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is a complementary therapy in which gentle, specific pressure is applied to different areas of the feet.

It is based on the idea that points on the feet correspond to other parts of the body. Whatever you make of that, most people find the treatment itself deeply restful: a quiet hour of focused, caring touch with nothing asked of you.

Reflexology is not a medical treatment and is not a substitute for diagnosis or care from your GP or other health professionals. If you have a health condition or are receiving treatment, please mention it when we take your health history.

Welcome

We sit down together and go through your health history in private. This is part of your hour, not an extra charge.

Treatment

You settle on the treatment bed under a warm blanket, shoes and socks off, while gentle pressure is worked through the feet. Talk or stay quiet; whatever suits you.

Rest

A few unhurried minutes to come round, with a glass of water, before you head back out.

Every appointment is 60 minutes in total, including your health history. Arriving a few minutes early helps you settle in.

Prices

One session, or five at your own pace

Questions

Before your first visit

Whatever is comfortable. You only need to take off your shoes and socks; everything else stays on, and you will be covered with a blanket.

No. It helps to arrive a few minutes early, and to know about any medication or health conditions so we can talk them through at the start.

No. It is part of your 60-minute session, with no extra charge.

That is entirely up to you. Some people come once as a treat; others like a regular rhythm of visits, which is what the five-session package is for.

Not always. Some health conditions mean reflexology may not be appropriate, or may need to wait. We will talk this through with you during your health history, and if in doubt we may suggest checking with your GP first.
